About Hilltop Hilltop Outdoor Centre in Sheringham on the North Norfolk Coast is a high quality, family run independent Outdoor Education centre. Hilltop offers a superior and unique experience, providing developmental visits to Schools and Educational groups. There are two themed centres within the grounds of Hilltop, the rustic Woodland Lodge and the coastal style Seaview House which if booked together accommodate up to 160 children.

Staff Mr Brown Mrs Martins Mrs Applegate Mrs Dale Mrs Trentham

Ahead of the trip Please make sure that your child is able to wash/shower/brush their own teeth etc Please involve your child in packing their case. They will need to do it coming home so the more practise the better. Plus, they know where everything is and that it has been packed – and can’t blame it on you when they can’t find their toothbrush/coat/pyjamas! Make sure they are able to roll up their sleeping bag

On the day… Bring the children to school at the usual time Bring them straight into the hall from the playground and leave their cases around the outside of the hall Hand in any last minute medication forms and medication Say goodbye and then go back out via the playground When we leave it is always easier for the children if they aren’t being waved off

Challenge by choice The main aim is to develop children’s independence, confidence, bravery, teamwork and communication skills. During their time at Hilltop they will be challenged and pushed to take that extra step and face their fears. At the same time every challenge is their choice. They are encouraged to go as far as they can but never made to do anything that they can’t.

Food Don’t worry, even the fussiest eaters get fed! They are usually so hungry, tired and involved with their friends that they forget about the food they don’t like. We ensure that all children have sufficient food to eat. If they have any allergies please ensure that you have let us know. They will need a packed lunch for the first day. Please ensure that they don’t have any other food – eg sweets as there is a strict ‘no food in rooms’ policy at Hilltop They can bring some money for souvenirs and sweets etc as detailed on the kit list

When we return… You will be sent a text on the day to let you know if we are going to be back late, otherwise we will be back by the end of the school day for collection. Wait on the playground as usual until you are called in. Collect your child, their things and check the lost property that we will invariably have!

Other bits Please fill in the bedroom preference form. We will try to ensure they are sharing with at least 1 person that they put down. Please ensure that you have filled out and returned all medication forms and if anything crops up or changes last minute then let us know. Please ensure all medication is named when handed in to the office. Please make sure that the office have your current mobile number to receive texts. Please see Mr Brown if your child isn’t allowed to be in any particular photographs (Facebook/Website etc) as he will try his best to update you all via Facebook with photographs when possible. Please ask if you have any questions before we go.
