Who we are:     Just a little bit about us...

Welcome to a class you can use! Welcome to 7th grade! We are very excited to get to know each and every one of you. We are going to do a lot of exciting things this year. I know that every one of you will succeed in this class, but it will take work and dedication on your part as well as ours. Here are our procedures and expectations. We will come prepared for every class and we will give you our best effort every day and we expect the same from you.

Supplies: 3 ring binder with loose leaf paper OR spiral notebook     (Since we are in the gym, you will need a solid surface to write on) Health Folder Pens/ Pencils (Something to write with) Bring all the materials you will need with you to class. (binder or notebook, folder, pen or pencil, free read book)

Entering the Classroom: 1. Bring all the materials you will need with you to class. (binder, book, pen or pencil)   2. If you are not in your assigned seat when the bell rings, YOU WILL be counted tardy.  3. If you arrive late to class, YOU MUST have a pass. Please show me your pass and quietly go to your seat and join the class.

Procedure/Routine: 1. Enter and begin the assignment that is posted each day.   2. When you are finished sit quietly and wait for further instruction.   3. Presentation of daily objective.   4. Students will work individually or in a group to master the objective.   5. Closing activities. (lessons discussion & leaving class)

Everyone up and do their favorite Stretch! STRETCHING!   Everyone up and do their favorite Stretch!

Classroom rules: 1. Respect & Responsibility toward others (feelings, space, and property)   2. Be a proactive young adult (be on time, be eager to work, be eager to learn, be ready for responsibility)   3. Do not interrupt someone who is talking (raise your hand!!!!)

If you are absent: 1. YOU are responsible for what you miss when you are not in class. Check on our website to see if there was an assignment for that day. If possible, complete the assignment before returning to school. 2. When you return, check with us on what you missed, ask a classmate about the assignment if you have any questions. If a classmate cannot answer your questions, ask one of us. 3. You have one health day for every day you were absent to get your work turned in (This is actually 2 days or more since we only meet on Tuesdays & Thursdays.

Assignments/Late Work: Late work should not happen in Health. Most of our work is in class assignments. Please be responsible and turn work in on time. We have health every other day so you will always have at least 2 days to do your homework.   Late work will receive a lesser score and affect your final grade (Because we do not have many points in a qtr., this could be a significant change in your grade!)

Group Projects: Many things we do in this class will be done in cooperative groups (Sometimes you will have the choice to work alone or in a group). In every group there are roles. You are expected to know your role and fulfill your role.   These groups may be assigned or you may have a choice. Your performance in the group may affect the grade of the group. If given the opportunity, pick partners that will do their share of the work.

Passes out of class: You need your assignment notebook every day.   Without the assignment notebook you will not be allowed to leave class. Passes out of class (ex. restroom, nurse, office, locker) will not be given during instruction. Please take care of these things before coming to class if possible. If an emergency, leave and bring back a pass if possible.

Grading Scale: 99%-100%        A+ 92%-98%        A 90%-91%        A- 88%-89%        B+ 82%-87%        B 80%-81%        B- 78%-79%        C+ 72%-77%        C 70%-71%        C- 68%-69%        D+ 62%-67%        D 60%-61%        D- 59% and below    F

Substitute Teacher Rule I will explain...   You can make it through less than 45 minutes with anyone. If there is a problem, We will deal with it upon our return. No one should ever have a problem with a Substitute Teacher!

Mens sana in corpore sano A sound mind in a sound body Leave all the afternoon for exercise and recreation, which are as necessary as reading. I will rather say more necessary because Health is worth more than learning.
