Activities – Regional Action Learning Sets Deliver 15 Regional Action Learning Sets across 5 regions: 3 per region, approx. 6 months apart 1 day Representation from as many LAs as possible Share key national info on EYSEND (policy, data) Incorporating wide range of participants: LA Early Years/SEND Health Settings Parents Etc… Key purpose - Work in LA groups on Action Planning using the Self Review Tool…

The Self Review Tool Structured around eight themes which have been identified as important to improving access and inclusion in the early years: • Data • Identification of need • Parental engagement • The local offer • Staff skills and expertise • Funding arrangements • Joint working • Transition into school Basis for an ongoing LA wide plan of action (discuss, revise etc)

CDC Specialist ALS - Local Offer Provided to 1 local area per region Focus on a specific aspect of local offer (not whole thing…) Respective responsibilities of: local authorities settings for special educational provision Determines the threshold for an EHC needs assessment and plan Will bring together LA SEN, LA EY and settings managers Will promote engagement with managers already trained through the programme
