Define these lit terms: Historical fiction, credible characters, anthropomorphism, imagery, foreshadowing, simile, inference, idiom, figurative language, text features, theme, moral, predict. 2. Define these power verbs: Demonstrate, define, identify, distinguish, analyze, evaluate, explain, summarize, examine, state. 3. Apply their knowledge by identifying examples of the following within a given text: anthropomorphism, imagery, foreshadowing, simile, inference, idiom.

Starter #1 Please take everything off from your desk.

Starter #2 If we finish early with examining test results, you will be allowed to read or to take an AR test.   You should bring an AR book with you every day, to every class. If you did not bring a book to read, please borrow one from our Reading Cove and place it under your desk. At the end of the period, please remember to return it carefully to the same place where you found it. Thanks!
