Presentation transcript:

Week 20 Social Studies/science SS.1.A.2.5 Distinguish between historical fact and fiction using various materials.

Monday’s Lesson

Science: What is gravity? We will make a circle map describing what we know about gravity SC.1.E.5.2: (DOK 2) Explore the Law of Gravity by demonstrating that Earth's gravity pulls any object on or near Earth toward it even though nothing is touching the object.

Think Pair Share: Why does a rock fall to the ground faster than paper?

Tuesday’s Lesson

What really makes objects fall at different speeds? Vocab to learn: Mass and air resistance

Pause the video to have students demonstrate with the paper in the video. Discuss mass and air resistance.

Based on our experiment, why did the crumbled sheet of paper fall first? Think Pair Share

Thursday’s Lesson

Social Studies: What is a primary source? SS.1.A.1.1 Develop an understanding of a primary source.

Turn and talk: How can you tell this is nonfiction?

Complete together

Friday’s Lesson SS.1.A.2.5 Distinguish between historical fact and fiction using various materials.

We will play a game in groups deciding if the examples are primary or secondary sources! Ready….Set…….GO!! SS.1.A.2.5 Distinguish between historical fact and fiction using various materials.
