ImageJ Introduction – Calculating distance and establishing scale using Google Maps and ImageJ Summary: You will be asked to calculate the length and width of a building using Google maps and ImageJ. You will repeat this task for 2 other buildings. NOTE: This activity uses Macon Early College campus as an example. Please use whatever photos and data your teacher provides. In addition, you will create an Excel spreadsheet to record your data. The data will be used to calculate the area that each building occupies to compare with your ImageJ data. Inquiry/Extension: Using Excel, calculate the percentage of the total area in your image that each building occupies and then the percentage of the area that all the buildings occupy vs the total area represented in the entire photo.
