GENDER EQUALITY By Rachel Raab

Why is gender equality a problem? Men and women that work at the same job aren’t always paid the same amount. [federal law now protects it, but in other countries the law doesn’t extend] Respect can vary depending your gender. Privacy can also vary. EXAMPLE- 1920; It hasn’t even been 100 years since womens voting rights were changed to allow their voices to be heard politically.

How we can fix this… Fully recognize the topic. REALIZE… It will take time to reach the goal of equality. It takes more than one person to make change. It will take time. Find the plan and stick with it. Understand it is equality we are working for, not one gender is greatly better. Fully recognize the topic.

People react to this issue by… There are many marches, speeches, and protests held each year. It is being taught in hundreds of schools that equality is so important yet there is still an issue. Some people are feminists\support feminism, the advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men. {oxford dictionary definition.}

WHERE IS THIS OCCURING? All around the world. WHEN IS THIS OCCURING? All the time. (whenever really) WHO IS INVOLVED? Government, all men and women, etc. HOW IS CULTURE INVOLVED? Culture is involved because it shapes and creates our community. Respect is a HUGE key to maintaining equality around the world. WHERE DOES THIS ALL START…? This all starts years and years back. I mean years ago women weren’t allowed to vote, their input was not respected or trusted politically. Women we are not allowed to work or keep well paying jobs. Interesting Fact “2013 - Julia Pierson is sworn in as the first female director of the United States Secret Service on March 27.”
