Requirements for this tutorial You will need a good grasp of: The basics of SAP The basics of beas 4/4/2019

Learning Targets After working through the lesson, you will be able to: Create new storage areas and inventory locations Complete inventory transactions with inventory locations Retrieve inventory data concerning inventory locations 4/4/2019

Agenda Inventory Location Management 1: General 2: Working with inventory location management 4/4/2019

be.as inventory location management General (Structure) SAP store be.as inventory location management Every store created in SAP can also be structurally defined as an inventory location managed store. Storage areas Storage areas can be defined within a store (high-level rack, pallet rack, shelving, etc.) Inventory locations An inventory location is the lowest level and comes below a storage area Inventory locations Storage areas 4/4/2019

General (Function overview) Inventory location management Full integration Batch and serial numbers Full integration Inventory location management is part of all inventory transactions, e.g. goods receipt, delivery note generation and inventory stock transfer. Batch and serial numbers For batches or inventories with serial numbers, corresponding inventory queries with inventory location stocks are available Visual display Storage areas and inventory locations can be displayed visually Parameters and strategies Inventory locations can be defined with details on size or weight, and storage or removal strategies can be specified Visual display Parameters and strategies 4/4/2019

Agenda Inventory Location Management 1: General 2: Working with inventory location management 4/4/2019

Working with inventory location management Setting up a store location A: Select an available store from the list Check the box to activate inventory location management for a store. B: In the store location coordinates field, the dimensions of the store location are stored in meters and a color is selected for the display. In the next step, the storage areas and inventory locations are recorded. 4/4/2019

Working with inventory location management Setting up a storage area This is where you define the storage area; a storage area can be, e.g. a high-level rack, a pallet location or shelving. You need to specify a unique ID for each storage area (name, description) and inventory location type (standard, provision, quality check store, etc.). A: Block withdraw: If activated, nothing else can be taken from this storage area. Block inbound: If activated, nothing else can be posted to this storage area. B: Shape and size of a storage area: Dimensions: length, width, height The storage area is broken down into dimensions: Dimension 1 = level Dimension 2 = row Dimension 3 = compartment C: You can specify the maximum permitted volume and weight As well as the inventory, be.as also enters and subtracts the volume and weight in the storage locations. The current weight utilization is displayed as a % alongside the maximum weight. Finally, you can specify the colors for the graphic display 4/4/2019

Working with inventory location management Setting up a storage area Area view: the storage area is displayed from the "Front", the length x height can be seen Green: free inventory locations Red: occupied inventory locations 4/4/2019

Working with inventory location management Setting up an inventory location Inventory location view: The inventory location is the smallest unit of inventory storage (it can be a pallet location, a small storage area or just a compartment of a shelf). A sort order can be saved for removal and storage. If you select an inventory location using the selection list, the sort order is taken into account. 4/4/2019

Working with inventory location management Visualization / color rules Meaning Empty = green Occupied = red Inventory location is shown as green as long as it is empty, otherwise it is red. By weight up to 50% green up to 80% amber 80% or over red Coloring depends on weight - the actual weight is compared with the maximum weight permitted. In addition, the amount of area filled is not only shown through color, but also by means of percentages.   4/4/2019

Working with inventory location management Batch creation of inventory locations   The "Create new inventory location" function enables you to create several inventory locations or compartments all at the same time. The visualization coordinates are calculated automatically. Call up via the inventory location list, "New batch" button    A: You need to enter the usual parameters, such as dimensions, size, max. weight and volume, color allocations.   B: Finally, click on "START" to start creating and visualizing the inventory locations. C: Result The program correspondingly creates the first inventory location according to the coordinates and templates (inventory location identification/sorting). The second inventory location in the row receives the X position (X pos of the first inventory location + length + distance) Once all the inventory locations in one row are created, the next row follows 4/4/2019

Working with inventory location management Expanded visual display   Each inventory location is displayed as a "rectangle". However, the visualization system enables you to display any other objects, such as rectangles, texts and lines. This tab contains a script window. You can use be.as script to specify the layout of the visualization. 4/4/2019

Working with inventory location management Posting procedures - goods receipt entry   Goods receipt: a possible storage area for the current item is displayed For goods transactions, the relevant inventory location posting can be made automatically in a transaction for each document. E.g. goods receipt entry, items can be allocated to any inventory locations (several serial numbers, batches to one inventory location) E.g. good issue entry, the display shows which stock is available at which inventory location (if applicable, batch or serial numbers) 4/4/2019

Working with inventory location management Posting procedures - manual entry Goods receipt: inventory locations and the current inventory are displayed for the current item 4/4/2019

Working with inventory location management (Inventory queries) The inventory history (inventory location stock) displays the individual amounts of stock for the respective inventory locations (A), if necessary, with batch or serial numbers. 4/4/2019

Summary You can now: Create new storage areas and inventory locations Complete inventory transactions with access to inventory locations Retrieve information concerning inventory location stocks 4/4/2019

Thank you for your cooperation! 4/4/2019
