6.3 2 Step Conversions Objective 1:f

Essential Questions How can you convert grams, particles, and liters into each other?

2 Step Conversions A 2 step conversion problem is when the units in the problem do not include the mole. The first step is dividing to convert to moles. The second step will be multiplying to convert from moles to the unit you want. 1 mol substance substance substance 1 mol substance

2 Step Conversions (cont) You need 250 grams of table sugar (sucrose C12H22O11). How many sugar molecules will be in the cake? Suppose you have a sample of 7.2x1022 atoms of Ca. What is the mass of the sample?

2 Step Conversions (cont) You fill a 1.00 L flask with carbon dioxide at STP, how many molecules are in the flask? 2.69x1022 molecules of CO2 A sample contains 4.92 x 1024 molecules H2. How many liters would it be? 183 L H2O

2 Step Conversions (cont) How many liters would you have if you have 432 g of water vapor? 537 L H2O What would be the mass of a sample containing 645 L SF6? 4206 g SF6

Essential Questions How can you convert grams, particles, and liters into each other?
