The second graders have some party money left over. That money will be used to purchase a basket for the second grade to donate to the carnival. SPRING CONCERT: The Elementary Spring Concert is set for Friday, April 5 in the afternoon. All are welcome! MN ZOO – The second grade will be taking their annual class trip to the MN Zoo on Wednesday, May 15. Parents are welcome to come, but they will probably have to follow the bus in their own vehicles or share rides. (Just letting people know because some people want to ask off from their work place.) PENNIES FOR PAGES: Please send in any coins, bills, or checks. Wednesday, Feb. 27 is the last day of the contest! On the 27th, the second graders will take the money to the GM bank. There the tellers will show the second graders how coins are sorted. This is in honor of a former Kindergarten/2nd Grade teacher, Mrs. Shirley Davis. Check may be made out to GM School. Money raised will go toward new books for the school library. The winning GRADE earns a bowling party! FEBRUARY READING CHALLENGE: The elementary classes are split up into 2 teams (TEAM THING 1 and TEAM THING 2). Each member of the winning team will earn a free book from the book order ($5 value)! The Accelerated Reader program will keep track of the words read. Second graders will be able to read any book with in their reading range. They may also take 2 AR test a day. CHILDREN’S DENTAL HEALTH SERVICES: Please return the white dental health consent form ASAP, if you do want the services at school or do NOT want the services at school. NO MORE BLIZZARD BAGS/E-LEARNING DAYS. The state of MN only allows 5 E-Learning Days. If school is cancelled because of weather it will be a snow day. Students will not have to do their blizzard bags. THANK YOU to all the parents who helped with the Valentines’ Party and for creating the Valentine boxes at home.
