Presentation transcript:

Economic valuation of wetland’s ecosystem services Research objective: spatially explicit monetary valuation of ecosystem services at European level through meta-analysis and value transfer based on land use. Methodology: 1) Estimations of a meta-regression model that relates primary economic value estimates (TEEB database) to key explanatory variables spatially represented (bio-physical and socio-economic characteristics); 2) Use the model to scaling-up values and assign a per hectare value to each biome given the spatial characteristics related to the ecosystem valued and the socio-economic context. Expected results: biome-specific spatially explicit monetary value representing the indicative total economic value of the ecosystem services provided.
