THE WONDER OF GOD’S FAMILY – 1 John 3:1-3 God is lifting you from the world’s famine into His wealthy family!

KEY THOUGHT God has a family, and His love makes you a member of it KEY THOUGHT God has a family, and His love makes you a member of it. God’s love saves the sinner, separates him from the filth of the world and fits him for His household and Kingdom. It is the greatest privilege man can have. Therefore, God expects us to come out of the world and commit ourselves to Him wholly and fully.

EXCELLENCY OF GOD’S FAMILY – 1 John 3:1 God’s family is peculiar, unique; it is: A holy family: Deu 14:1,2 A spiritual family: Eph 2:19-22 A universal family: Eph 3:14,15; Heb 12:22-24 A peculiar family: 1 Pet 2:9-12 A heavenly family: Rev 7:9,10 God’s family is greater than a natural family, a tribe or a nation. It is a privilege to belong there!

ENTRANCE INTO GOD’S FAMILY – 1 John 3:2 How do we come into God’s family? Conversion: John 1:11-13; 3:3-8; Rom 8:14-17; 9:25,26; Mat 5:9 There must be spiritual birth Separation: 2 Cor 6:14-18 Come out clear of the world Commitment: Mat 12:46-50; Acts 2:41,42 Hear God’s word and do it God’s grace is free; faith will get it!

ESTABLISHMENT IN GOD’S FAMILY – 1 John 3:3 Having been saved into God’s family by grace through faith (Eph 2:8-10), remain in the obedience of faith (Acts 6:7) and continue in God’s grace (Acts 13:43). How? Walk in the light: 1 John 1:5-7 Be a follower of God: Eph 5:1-8 Flee false fellowship: Eph 5:11,12 Fulfil your duty: Phi 2:12-16 He who has saved you will keep you!
