PharmCAS “Pharmacy College Application Service” Essentially the ‘common app’ for pharmacy schools 2018-2019 Cycle Application fee: $175 plus $55 per additional school There is a fee assistance program for those who need Majority of the schools in the United States utilize PharmCAS Official Transcripts are mailed to PharmCAS Evaluations/Recommendations are electronically sent to PharmCAS Personal Statement is uploaded directly to PharmCAS All GPA’s are calculated by PharmCAS Study Abroad, if classes are taken at other schools, AP classes not calculated toward GPA

Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Must take, and pass the certification exam to become a certified Pharmacy Technician Fee: $129.00 Most times waved by company of the pharmacy you are working at 90 questions, 2 hours Pharmacy law, brand/generic drugs, conversions, simple math, some hospital pharmacy practice Usually get a raise Attractive on pharmacy application, but not needed

State vs. National Certification State Technician Certification Required by state law Can get certified through certain pharmacy technician programs Must obtain within 6 months of employment by a pharmacy $45.00 application fee Required fingerprint and background check National Certification PTCB Raise in salary Attractive on resume If you get your National certification, you must apply for State Certification. If you have your state certification, no need for National certification
