Causes of Civil War? The Laws Caused the War: Made people go against each other. The Kansas-Nebraska Act led to VIOLENCE. The laws are inconsistent – say one thing and do another. Ignoring the compromise of Missouri, like with the kansas-neb act. Dred Scott case – slaves are PROPERTY. The north was upset about this because they’re abolitionists. John Brown – gave slaves weapons. The North called him a HERO. South called him a terrorist. Uncle Tom’s Cabin was a book that showed inside of slavery (south said it was Propaganda).

Can Texas secede the Union? Right after the results of the 2012 presidential election had been revealed, something out of the ordinary began happening. United States citizens started filing petitions so that their states could secede from their country due to Barack Obama being re-elected as president. As of the evening of Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, the petition for Texas' secession has reached over 112,000 signatures.
