Kleenex, Lysol, Clorox Wipes!!! Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Hamlin’s Newsletter March 4-8 Important News We will finish our Benchmark testing on Wednesday with the Math Benchmark! I know we have been working our tails off and we all deserve a break. One more week ‘til Spring Break! We can do this!!! Math We will finish our unit on line plots this week. Monday will be spent reviewing for our Summative on Tuesday, then we will spend a few days getting a head start on our Geometry unit. Students will review lines, line segments, rays and angles (obtuse, right and acute), as well as, parallel and perpendicular lines. Language Arts This week, the students will participate in an escape room game based on our, “Number the Stars,” novel. The students will practice the skills of main idea/detail, theme, summarization, context clues and word meanings throughout the escape room. We will also continue with our opinion writings. . Science We will take our Summative on Landforms and Fossils on Monday. Our next unit will looking at the map of Earth’s surface. Students will learn how catastrophic events have the potential to change Earth’s surface quickly and the things scientists and engineers do to reduce the impacts of natural disasters on humans. Social Studies We will take our Summative on Chapter 5, “A Divided Nation,” on Tuesday. A study guide for this test was sent home last week.
