Hydro power Hydro power is the power that is created by water spinning a huge turbine cooper

Pros and cons Pros Hydropower is considered clean because it does not contribute to global warming, air pollution, acid rain, or ozone depletion. In some instances, dams provide enhanced environmental protection, such as the retention of hazardous materials Dams provide a range of economic, environmental, and social benefits, including recreation, flood control, water supply, hydroelectric power, waste management, river navigation, and wildlife habitat. Dams provide prime recreational facilities throughout the United States. Cons One problem with hydro power is it blocks rivers  Floods banks  And even destory habits

The salmon have been declining since the dam was put in 1930

SOLAR ENERGY    gunner                   The reason that solar power is the best use of power is because in most areas there is sunlight and sunlight already gives us light and heat so why not give us power as well. It also uses a natural resource that be used at anytime during the day and at night most people are asleep so there is no need to use power. Solar power is also one of the cheaper power uses compared to other power uses.

Benefits and Disadvantages of Solar Energy Benefits for solar power is the fact that it uses and natural resource that will always be available (The Sun). Its also pretty easy to maintain and use on a daily basis as well as causing no pollution to the environment. DISADVANTAGES  Disadvantages of using solar power is if you are in an area where there isn't much sunlight or availability to light it won't be any use. Also placing solar panels to run a city would take up a lot of space so we may end up having to clear a forest. There is also to the problem of winter so Solar panel will be a lot more non efficient.

US Solar Usage World Solar Usage

Hydrogen Energy    It's a very abundant resource. Hydrogen alone takes up at least 75% of the earth's renewable energies. It usually exists in plants and naturally is formed in water.   Hydrogen is the most basic out of all other earth elements. The hydrogen atom is made up of one proton and one electron. It's usually combined with other elements. Hydrogen is also very HARD to separate it from its other substances that it's mixed with.

Hydrogen Energy   Hydrogen energy is usually tapped from renewable resources which is great and all, until you realize it's also made from nonrenewable resources. Hydrogen energy is also good, for the fact being that hydrogen is an abundant gas which we can use a lot. It's also a practically clean resource.   But it does obviously come with downfalls  One of those is that it's not really going to sustain our population, we instead run more on nonrenewable resources. And it also is expensive to do and buy. It's typically used more by the wealthy than the average person.

Why is Hydrogen best to buy and use?  Hydrogen energy is one of the best circumstances since its virtually nonpolluting and the fact that it's also a renewable energy. Hydrogen Energy can also become a substitute for oil and other types of fuels.  For example, Hydrogen energy is used by NASA and currently is fueling some of its machines. Such as propelling some of its carriers, fuels the propel the space shuttles, and is also used to pure water for the crew. Hydrogen energy can become an alternative for gasoline completely and is also known as an "energy carrier"

Tidal energy is a form of hydropower that converts the energy obtained from tides to power, mostly electricity. This method is not widely used yet but it can be more useful since it is more predictable than the wind and sun. Tidal energy is a renewable resource which means it doesn’t pollute the air or take up much space. Tides are denser than air making it easier for power to be generated at a low speed. Although it can have benefits some disadvantages can be preventing aquatic migration and there are very few ideal locations for construction of plant and they too are localized to coastal regions only.

Tidal energy is most efficient in coastlines Tidal energy is most efficient in coastlines. It is better for it to be near water and  due to the strong attraction to the oceans, a bulge in the water level is created, causing a temporary increase in sea level. As the Earth rotates, this bulge of ocean water meets the shallow water adjacent to the shoreline and creates a tide. This occurrence takes place in an unfailing manner, due to the consistent pattern of the moon's orbit around the earth. The magnitude and character of this motion reflects the changing positions of the Moon and Sun relative to the Earth, the effects of Earth's rotation, and local geography of the seafloor and coastlines.

Wind Energy Overview Wind turbines (pictured below) are the main source of wind energy. These turbines convert kinetic energy in the wind into mechanical energy. Then a generator converts the mechanical energy into electricity.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Using Wind Energy Relatively pollution and greenhouse gas free It is a renewable resource It is cost friendly Animals such as birds and bats fly into wind turbines and die Requires a higher initial investment than fossil fueled generators Noise pollution
