The Emergence of American Nationalism .

What is Nationalism? Patriotism is, generally speaking, cultural attachment to one's homeland or devotion to one's country, although interpretations of the term vary with context, geography, and political ideology. (Wikipedia) Nationalism is a belief, creed or political ideology that involves an individual identifying with, or becoming attached to, one's nation. (Wikipedia) In a new nation, what might contribute to the growth of nationalism?
