Lesson 2: Selecting Cells, Rows, and Columns Objectives: Select cells, rows, and columns Move between cells Understand how to select multiple cells, rows and columns

Selecting a Cell Click inside a cell to select it. You can use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move between cells.

Selecting a Row or Column Click on the row or column heading select it. Selected row or columns are highlighted.

Selecting Multiple Cells – Click & Drag The Click and Drag method is the most common method because it is quick and easy. 1. Click and hold on the first cell. 2. Drag the mouse to select all the cells 3. Release the mouse button when done.

Selecting Multiple Cells – Shift Key Use the Shift Key method to select very large groups of cells. 1. Click on the first cell in the group. 2. Hold down the Shift key. 3. Scroll to and click on the last cell in the group. 4. Release the Shift key.

Selecting Multiple Cells – Ctrl Key Use the Ctrl Key method to select cells across the spreadsheet. 1. Click on the first cell you want to select. 2. Hold down the Ctrl key. 3. Click the remaining cells. 4. Release the Ctrl key.

Selecting Multiple Rows and Columns Use the same three methods as with selecting multiple cells: Click & Drag Shift Key Ctrl Key
