Presentation Basics To create your presentation: Research your content Identify your audience Choose a design Write appropriate text Add appropriate graphics and animation

Slide Design - Animation Use consistent animation for text and graphics Change the animation to emphasize a point, but do so sparingly

Slide Design - Theme Provides unity for presentation Use a Microsoft-supplied theme for most presentations Customize a theme for a unique presentation

Slide Design - Layout Vary slide layout to build audience interest Use 2 to 4 layouts in a presentation

Slide Design - Bullets Use 2 to 6 bullets per slide Write short and interesting bulleted text Remind the presenter to explain text in detail

Slide Design - Text Use large fonts Body text level 1 – size 36 to 44 Minimum font size should be 26

Slide Design - Color Use color for text, background, slide placeholders, and objects Use contrasting (complementary) colors to improve readability For example: Use light text with a dark background
