Introduction Instructors introduction Instructor Notes: Introduce yourself and give a brief background of your experience with the AN/TRC-170(V)3 and your role as the instructor. 2. Cell Phones cell phones should be off or in vibrate mode Point out location of restrooms, water fountains, exits, etc. 3. Initial paperwork student enrollment data Pass around student enrollment sheet. Course objective Given 120 hours of combined academic classroom and practical hands-on training in setup, operation, and general maintenance of the AN/TRC-170(V)3 Digital Troposcatter Communications System, successfully complete all practical hands-on exercises, performance checks, and all written tests with at least 70% accuracy. Action: NET training package will enable the soldier to operate all aspects of the AN/TRC-170(V)3 Digital Troposcatter Communications system. Instructor Notes: Hand out student study guides. Evaluations a. Types Academic – 6 unit quizzes Performance checks there will be several hands-on sessions with associated performance checks there will also be a final performance check at the end of the course b. Standards 1) Individual passing scores - 70% on academics and performance checks 2) Cumulative passing score - 70% AN/TRC 170(V)3 Training

Instructor Lesson Plan Class Conduct Course Overview Class hours Duty hours 0900 to 1800 Breaks Instructor Notes: Cover the hours class will be conducted each day and when breaks and lunch will be permitted. Cover student conduct, care of training room and equipment. C. Class Conduct 1. Class hours Duty hours - 0900 to 1800 (may vary by command unit) Eight hours of training time allotted, start time may be varied at discretion of command unit. b. Breaks - Minimum of 15 minute break in the morning and afternoon and at least hour for lunch 10 minute breaks each hour is permitted. Thursdays are “Sgt-time” – 15:00 release permitted. Electrical – high voltages will kill you. Be aware of hazards Instructor Notes: There are several items that require two-man lift. Observe safety regulations. Lift – some equipment requires two-man lift. 2.
