Presentation transcript:

Ms. Andrea’s Newsletter February 2019 What We’re Learning: Learning is in full swing! We will continue to work on counting (rote and counting objects) and number identification. We will continue our work with letter identification and sounds. Students will be learning a few things about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln in preparation for President’s Day. Our Schedule: I feel like I didn’t see everyone the entire month of January. I am “over” snow days. As a result, we are learning to “go with the flow”. We want our kids to be able to handle changes in routine. I will continue to add a few “surprises” during the day so the students can learn how to adjust to change. Special Announcements: We made it through January with a lot of interruptions due to weather! We had a great hibernation day. We have a few fun things planned for the month of February. We will have a small Valentine’s Day celebration. The kids will give out Valentines. I will be sending home a list a students in each class if your child would like to participate. We realize that it is difficult to get your child to share about their day. Every day we review what we did. I will remind them about what we worked on at our learning centers, what our story was about, and what movement activities we did. I will then ask them what they enjoyed the most. You can try to ask similar questions at home to find out a little more about their day. I promise we are very busy. Feel free to email with any questions. Please continue to check your child’s red folder daily. This is the best place to find out about their day. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Don’t forget to read with your child! Thank you for your support! Ms. Andrea, Ms. Lisa, Ms. Marti and Ms. Courtney Important Dates: -Feb 14th-Valentines Day; early release (PM class will exchange Valentines on the 13th) AM dismisses @11, no PM class -Feb 18th-Presidents Day, No school Birthdays: No February birthdays @ Rachel Thorp 2013
