Scope of Handbook We cannot possibly think of every circumstance or situation, and we acknowledge that not every situation fits squarely into the policy that we have created. MAYO MIDDLE SCHOOL – Where raising the bar is the expectation! Eligibility Academics – Pulled on Thursdays for following week. Recurring Failures – Ineligible for season Other reasons for eligibility concerns: – Attendance – Discipline – Residency – Fees/Fines – IESA Guidelines

Athletic Fees/Fines $30 for each sport $120 max for a family including high school Additional costs will be associated with sports depending on needs of sport. – Example: Basketball shoes – Coaches will not pass out equipment/gear until all fees/fines are paid.

We excuse absences for family emergencies, funerals, religious instruction/holidays. If a student misses a contest: – 1 Time – Student conference with coach – 2 Time – Ineligible to participate in next contest – 3 Time – Dismissal off team

We excuse absences for family emergencies, funerals, religious instruction/holidays. If a student misses a practice: – 1 Time – Ineligible to participate in next contest – 2 Time – Dismissal off team

Attendance at School All Day Absence – May not participate in practice or contest Half Days – Show up by at least 5 th hour Weekend Competitions – Must be present Friday by 5 th hour Exceptions – Funerals, Religious Instruction, Family Emergencies, Dr. Appointments with doctor notes (pre-arranged)
