Chapters 6-9 Because of Winn-Dixie

retriever (Page 37) Definition: a type of hunting dog Sentence: Even though retrievers are known for being hunting dogs, they also make very good pets.

trembling (Page 42) Definition: shaking with fear Sentence: The woman was trembling with fear when she saw the mouse run across the floor.

prideful (Page 45) Definition: having a sense of satisfaction, arrogant Sentence: The prideful boy wore the medal that he had won in the competition all week long.

embarrassed (Page 42) Definition: a feeling of being shamed; made shy; humiliated Sentence: I felt embarrassed when the two girls laughed after I slipped and fell down.

snuffled (Page 44) Definition: inhaled; breathed in Sentence: The dog snuffled his nose on the flower then sneezed.
