Presentation transcript:

The setting of the story is Nates city : Valley, Massachusetts. Valley is where Nates problems are found. Massachusetts is where the New England Patriots play also. If the setting was different, most likely Nate wouldnt have been drawn for the Million- Dollar Throw contest. Also Nate mightve not met Abby which is his best friend. Valley is also where he has to face the problem of his parents losing their house.

CharacterPhysical Characteristics Adjectives of Personality Text Evidence /Explanation of Adjectives Nate Brodie1- Athletic Build1-Caring1-Loves his parents 2- Strong Arm2-Responsible2-He does what he needs to do 3- Tall3-Honest3- He doesn't tell a lie Abby McCall1-Eye Problem1-Trustworthy1- Nate tells her everything 2- Beautiful(According to Nate) 2-Smart2- She takes advance classes and is considered the smartest 3-Tall3-Artistic3- She draws a lot and has a sketchbook full of art

Conflict- Man vs. Society and Man vs. Self –In the book Nate faces many problems with his friends and family. His parents are losing their house and need money. Abby is becoming blind. Nate is worried about the throw throughout most of the story. Nate also has trouble with his team. These problems are Man vs. Society and Man vs. Self.

Nate is a Football player at Valley, Massachusetts. He buys a football signed by Tom Brady which his favorite football player. He gets signed up for a Million Throw Contest and gets drawn for it. While his parents are losing their house Nate faces another problem which is that his best friend, Abby McCall, is becoming blind. As the day that can change Nates life comes closer he struggles in his football games. The day comes and Nate stands on the field. Tom Brady comes out of the locker room and gives Nate a pep talk. Nate looks at the tire and throws the football…will he make the throw that can change his life?

Life isnt always fair: Nate loses a football game: Evidence: Nate doesn't make a throw and his team loses. Meeting new people can make friendships: Nate meets Tom Brady: Evidence: Tom Brady comes out the locker room to talk to Nate. Hard work can be rewarding: Nate buys a $500 dollar football: Evidence: Nate saved up all his money to buy the football Life isnt always fair: Nate loses a football game: Evidence: Nate doesn't make a throw and his team loses. The point of view in Million-Dollar Throw is third person limited. In the story the narrator just talks about Nates thoughts and feelings. It doesnt reveal everything about the book which would make it to obvious of what's going to happen next. If the point of view was different it wouldve been really boring and not want to make you read on. Also the story wouldve left you multiple questions and leave you hanging.

One symbolism is the football signed by Tom Brady. The football is the most prized possession to Nate. It shows his admiration to Tom Brady. It also shows Nates hard work and his dedication. The football symbolizes hope. Another symbolism is Abbys glasses. The glasses show Abbys problem with her eye. Although it looks ugly it helps her. These glasses symbolizes innocence One symbolism is the football signed by Tom Brady. The football is the most prized possession to Nate. It shows his admiration to Tom Brady. I would recommend this book to every child and adult because it can change peoples thoughts and feelings. It can show other people whats happening to other people life. It is very interesting for teenagers too. Most teenagers like too see how another teenager can face his problems. Its good for football fans too!
