Listen to the tape about Beauty and the Beast and answer the following questions 1.Why did the merchant go into the castle? To keep his promise to his youngest daughter, the merchant picked up a rose from the beast’s castle.

2.On what condition would the beast spare the merchant’s life? The merchant brought the beast his girl. 3.How did the merchant recover from his illness? The merchant embraced his daughter after her short return.

4.How can the beast transform into his real self? A girl can accept what he was.
