Domestic Problems September 8, 1974- Ford granted Nixon a full pardon Inflation rises to 10% in 1974 “Whip Inflation Now” Americans should cut back on use of oil and gas and focus on saving energy “tight money” – cut government spending and restrict credit with higher interest rates Congress is Democratic Economic policies

Foreign Policy 1975 Ford signed Helsinki Accords- series of agreements that promised greater cooperation between Eastern and Western Europe. 1973 Ford asks Congress to for $722 million to help South Vietnam 1975 Cambodia seizes U.S. ship Mayaguez. Ford sends military to rescue 39 crew members however, 41 U.S. troops die
