Superheroes In Action Classroom News: Mrs. Bean’s Specials: Mrs. Bean December 14, 2018 Important Dates: December 17th: Winter Chorus Concert @ 6:30 @NMHS December 24-January 1: Holiday Break – No School Classroom News: This will be the last newsletter before break. Next week we will continue OG lessons and some math and reading lessons. The rest of the week will be dedicated to learning about holiday traditions. We will make crafts to go along with each lesson. At the end of the week everyone will bring home a special Holiday Around the World book with their creations. We will be making something special for our families too. On Wednesday, Mrs. Morvan is bringing in her guitar for a holiday sing-a-long. On Friday we will have a celebration day. This will include fun activities and a holiday movie. Enjoy the weekend! What we are Learning! Math O.G. Reading Writing Social Studies We were introduced to ways to become super smart about a nonfiction topic when we read. We take sneak peaks before reading, study each page, think about what we will learn next, and have book discussion about what we learned. Students were introduced to the doubles addition strategy as well as how to identify even and odd numbers. We continued to learned how to read and write words that end with a silent e. This week we focused on words that follow the i-e and e-e pattern. Next week we will learn words that have the u-e pattern. We began our nonfiction writing unit. In this unit we will write books that will teach our readers about something we know a lot about. We are learning about all the holidays that are celebrated in December.
