Modify The word modify means describe. The word receiving the description is the word being modified.

Examples of adjectives modifying nouns: busy dentist (busy modifies dentist) happy student (Student is being modified by happy) several days (several modifies days)

More examples: Describe People: noisy crowd, pretty girl Describe Places: large school, old hotel Describe Things: antique desk, red balloon Describe Ideas: enduring freedom, inner happiness

Articles are Adjectives Article: The most commonly used adjectives are known as articles. They are: a, an, the The pretty retriever and a fluffy pink poodle played together in the park. An orange is a good source of vitamin C. This is an honor.
