Behavior Plan *Class and Individual Dojo Points *Class Dojo is an online behavior management system intended to foster positive student behaviors and classroom culture. Students earn 'Dojo Points' based on their classroom conduct. Teachers use Class Dojo to keep parents up to date on student progress and classroom happenings.

Language Arts This year students will be using our new Journeys Program. This program integrates Reading, Grammar, Phonics, and Spelling. Students will read a new story every week and focus on comprehension skills and strategies. Students will be tested on skills at the end of the week. (Many weeks it will be online.) New spelling words will be given each week. Spelling Words Think Central iXL Raz-Kids

Connect Ed Student Account Everyday Math Secure Skills- These are skills that students should master at the end of third grade. There will be a test at the end of each Unit. We will review material before each test. Connect Ed Student Account First in Math iXL

Homework Homework will be given Monday through Friday. All homework assignments will review what we have learned in class. Students will be sent home with their planner with their homework assignments and reminders. Please sign and monitor your child’s homework.

Homework Math study links are given each lesson we work on in class. Sometimes a lesson takes two days. In that case, students may not have math homework on the second day or another assignment may be sent home. (HOMELINK BOOK) Children will be assigned homework in any subject area we work in. As a 3rd grade student they may get up to 40 minutes.

Assignments All classroom assignments must be done in class. If an assignment is not completed with ample time, it must go home for homework.

*Please be sure to check Genesis grades on a regular basis.* The grades are into Genesis once the papers are graded. The grades on Genesis are not entered any lower than a 50%. If your child received a 25% of his/her paper, you will see a 50% entered into Genesis, but the paper will reflect the actual percentage. *Please be sure to check Genesis grades on a regular basis.*

Friday Folders Friday Journals Every other week the children will bring home their papers. Not all papers are graded. Papers that are done as practice or completed as a class will not receive a grade, but be checked over. T- Completed Together Friday Journals Every Friday students will be writing in their Friday Journals, take them home, and you communicate with your child back. It is due to Monday (or Tuesday) if off from school. More details to follow in their notebook tomorrow.

Dismissal If you child is going home a different method than usual, please feel free to shoot me an email or a quick note. WALKERS: Please make sure a teacher sees you as you pick up your child outside the door. I understand it can get crazy, but we need to make sure your child is safe.
