Space the final frontier Space the final frontier... With those words, about forty years ago, star trek story began. It's the 1964 when a tv writer, Gene Roddenberry, started to think about star trek. After many difficulties, (costs, production team problems), they were ready to make the pilot episode. The USS Enterprise was ready to fly through the space, with reduced costs ( the Enterprise's landing sequence was delated and the teleport was created). But the NBC didn't approve the episode, defining it “too cerebral” for the audience and, for the first time in the tv story, they gave a second chance to Gene Roddenberry. After they had changed the actors and the main bridge design (just a little) the second episode were ready. The series was successful but in the third year, they started to lose audience and the series was deleted. But the story doesn't end there... in '79 first star trek movie, STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURES, was a success and the Paramount started to think about the next chapter.

In 80s, a new series of Star Trek, Star Trek: the next generation made his appearance on tv, and it was another success, with lots of audience. The next generation ended in '93, during the third season of star trek: deep space nine. Trying to replicate the success of two series, the paramount decided to product another series: star trek: voyager. In 2000, when ST:voyager ended, paramount had to stop the production and relax a bit. But that wasn't the case. In year 2000, Paramount launched Star Trek: enterprise, a sequel of the original series, which was a disaster: the series's time line was internally destroyed and the episodes continuity was absent. And the results are known : ST: enterprise has been deleted after just four years of production and the final episode of forty years of Star Trek divided the fans.
