The Gabrielino Tribe  By Riley  and Daniella

Location Lived in the southern part of California The lands of the Gabrielino indians stretched from Topanga south to Laguna Beach and included what today Los  Angeles. They lived up in grassy hills The climate where the Gabrielino lived it is  hot in the summer and cold in the winter.

Food The Gabrielino got their food from nature Ate roots, pinenuts, wild oats, sageseed, ilsy, lemonade, and berries. They take the meat out of the nut with an antler of pointed bone, then meat was dried for a week and that got rid of poison

Shelter To make their houses they  placed poles in the ground in a circle  and covered it with bundles of tule reeds. The Gabrielino village also had a sweat house where the  men went to sweat and talk. Most lived in earth house which had a wooden frame packed with clay and brush

Culture For ceremonies they marked off a oval area and built a fence of willow poles. The biggest ceremony was held in the fall to remember those who died that year. Men were hunters and warriors who defended their families.
