Westward Expansion Postcards

Step 1 Imagine you are moving west You may be on the road or you may have already set up a home in the frontier You need to choose a specific place You may use your textbook, encyclopedia, valid & credible internet sources to get ideas Possible places: Oregon Country, Texas Country, Louisiana, New Mexico, California

Step 2 Write a letter to a friend /family member back east telling them about your experience so far. Should be 7-10 sentences and accurately portray the experience of someone at the time and place

Step 3 Colorfully decorate the blank side of your index card with a picture depicting either your new home or one of your experiences. Write neatly your letter on the other side of your index card.

Grading Total of 25 points. 10 = accurate letter 10 = colorful postcard design 5 = neatness
