Sentiments expressed at the workshops Local Authority Mobility Platform Authority sentiments Sentiments expressed at the workshops We can fix the technology easily enough, it’s the organisational/operational integration and expediting of procurement that’s key. Providing sufficiently large contract areas to give minimal points of contact and economies of scale is important, for example procurement and operations on a combined authority level. Regional, Metropolitan and Combined Authority level working makes sense to us as Local Authorities.

A roadmap on future technology/assets/policy/data over 10 year period Local Authority Mobility Platform Overview of progress to date A roadmap on future technology/assets/policy/data over 10 year period Identifying that as an example Connected cars with in the fleet over the next 5-8 years. All new VW’s will be connected to each other from 2019 Platform Review There is a wide range of existing and emerging platforms How do we best realise the value of these platforms? Policy areas Digital Taxis – Uber Cycling – Mobike, Ofo, SeeSense Walking – range of smart device apps Buses – CityMapper

Local authority needs Private Sector needs Findings What have we learnt that we didn’t know before? Local authority needs Private Sector needs Access to their data. Investment in in-house skills to facilitate a mobility platform. Low complexity access to funding/procurement. Modern methods to manage their networks better. Enhanced/improved ability to communicate with their customers. Easy/pain-free access to local authority data. Consistency, so that their solutions can be tested and deliverable to market anywhere in the UK. Stable policy and marketplace environment to invest in their solutions e.g. whether they to go to Datex II-compliant UTMC platform.
