Essay Question Make sure you answer this question or a zero on the essay portion will result in an automatic fail for the test. Identify one of the darker actions examined in a story or drama from this unit. In what piece is the action highlighted? What intentions or emotions prompt the action? How would the story or drama change if the character involved were able to overcome the darker impulse and indulge a higher intention? Explain.

Essay Outline Minimum sentence requirement: 5 sentences   Topic sentence- The darker action in the short story or poem, ____________________ (fill in the title of the story or poem) is__________________ (explain the darkness in the story). Main point # 1- The dark action or dark nature is shown when _________________________________ (fill in details from the story that show the darker action taken). Main point # 2- explain what darker nature or desires in the character(s) prompts the dark actions taken in the story or poem. Provide evidence from the story or poem to support your response. Main point # 3- explain how the story or poem would be different if the character(s) had ben able to see reason and overcome their darker desires. Concluding sentence- What lesson from life can be learned from this story or poem?
