What is the PE and Sports Premium funding? The PE and Sport Premium is designed to help primary schools improve the quality of our PE and sports activities that we offer our pupils; ‘ALL pupils leaving primary school physically literate and with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy, active lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical activity and sport.’ We receive the funding based on the numbers of pupils we have. It is based upon schools with seventeen or more eligible pupils. Schools receive £16,000 and then an additional £10 per pupil (previously this was £8,000 and £5).
