Weekend brings wave of terror

Three deadly blasts this weekend in major cities thousands of miles apart targeted sites where people gather for life's daily rituals. Different groups claimed responsibility for two of the attacks, carrying them out in the name of different political and religious causes. In Istanbul, Turkey, the blasts were caused by a remote control detonated car bomb and a suicide bomber, killing at least 44 people. In Cairo, Egypt a bomb ripped through a section of a church, killing at least 25. And in Mogadishu, Somalia a car bomb filled with explosives killed at least 20 people.

In Other News According to President-elect Donald Trump, the reality of climate change is an open question. "Nobody really knows" if climate change is real, Trump said in the "Fox News Sunday" interview, when host Chris Wallace asked the incoming President where he stands on the environment. Trump told Wallace he is studying whether the United States should withdraw from its commitment to limit environmental output made at the Paris summit last year. In contrast to Donald Trump, the vast majority of climate scientists say climate change is real and humans contribute to it.
