Organization of Life Ecology K. Stacker SB4. Ecology: Students will assess the dependence of all organisms on one another and the flow of energy and matter within their ecosystems. Element a: The student will investigate relationships among organisms, populations, communities, ecosystems, and biomes. Essential Question: Why can’t an organism survive in total isolation?

All living things are interrelated because we need the same basic elements: food, water, and shelter. We are all dependent upon one another for these needs.
