Biodiversity description andthreats It consists of two provinces and two municipalities namely Koh Kong Province bordering Thailand in the west; Sihanoukville Municipality which contains the key port; Kampot province, bordering Vietnam to the East; and Kep Municipality. The offshore marine area contains 64 islands. The claimed Economic Exclusive Zone (EEZ) of Cambodia covers an area of approximately 42,000 km². Cambodia is facing major threats to its biodiversity as its marine organisms as well as terrestrial environments are being used for industrial or other human activities. CONSERVATION planning Explaining Marxan Marxan is a software which uses conservation targets and in order to conserve the targets at minimal cost The raster conservation groups are the targets to conserve Targets are set based on the level of conservation needed for the species and habitats The penalty factor is a value which indicates the importance of the inclusion of the reserve network. The higher the pentaly factor the more targets will be met Parameters of marxan need to be correct and filled in completely to run marxan Methods Prepare a Conservation Planning Tenures Map to ASSESS the complement (what needs to be added) to the EXISTING Protected Area Network: This needs to be prepared as a SINGLE ANNOTATED map which should include a title, scale bar, North direction, a comprehensive legend and a fully descriptive caption. You should not use the IDRISI dialogue boxes. Ensure you use proper annotation and include a descriptive caption.

From these results the species that fall into the protected areas and the extent on the protected areas will be indicated. Expected Results Explain using Diagrams the results you would expect to obtain from MARXAN. They do not need to be the actual results rather the form of the MARXAN outputs you would expect. You may use more than one slide to prepare this section.
