PUYALLUP FOOTBALL TEAM EXPECTATIONS The greatest reward for a persons toil is not what they get for it, rather what they become by it. John Ruskin Team Expectations 1. Protect the Team! 2. No whining, no complaining, no excuses! 3. Be Early! Academic Expectations 1. Academics are your first priority. If you are having a problem, or foresee having a problem in a class take care of it immediately. Help is always available. Please arrange this help before school, during lunch or after practice. If help must be obtained during practice time it needs to be cleared through your coach. 2. Student-Athletes must meet all state, district, and building academic eligibility standards. 3.Student-Athletes must follow the attendance policy set forth by the Puyallup School District. Attendance and Attitude Expectations: 1.All athletes are required to dress in the locker room. We are dressed and lined up alphabetically and by class for attendance at 2:35. We will walk to the stadium together. If practice is not at the stadium we will take attendance in the locker room and leave together. Practice begins at 2:45pm unless directed otherwise. If you are late to practice you will be given extra conditioning. Continued tardiness to practice may constitute dismissal from the team. Fifteen minutes late without notification constitutes an absence. 2.An absence from practice, when the coach has been notified, will result in that athlete not starting in the next scheduled contest. The player will enter that contest at the coachs discretion. Two absences from practice, when the coach has been notified, will result in that athlete not playing in the first half of the next scheduled contest. Any absence without coach notification will result in not playing in the next scheduled contest and may include dismissal from the team. 3. Injured players are expected to participate in practice within the limitations of their injury. They are expected to participate in practice attire. Ex. Lower leg injury, arrive in helmet and shoulder pads. Shoulder injury, arrive in practice pant and helmet. 4.If you choose to give less than 100% effort or act in an unacceptable manner (see team and practice expectations), you may be asked to leave practice. This will affect playing time. When these situations occur, other disciplinary actions such as additional conditioning may result. Self-control is expected at all times. 5. Dismissal from team may occur when: a. Violation of school or district policy that forces dismissal. b. Absence without notification c. Repeated violation of team policy and team expectations d. Negative effect on our team building efforts PUYALLUP FOOTBALL TEAM EXPECTATIONS Earning the Right to Win Player Signature:____________________________ Date:______________ Parent Signature:___________________________ Date:______________

Patten PURPOSE FOR PRACTICE: To prepare our team for any situation that may occur in a contest To mold individuals into a team To provide experiences to discover both team and individual talents To build confidence and discipline in our team PRACTICE EXPECTATIONS 1. Be On Time. 2. Do everything in your ability to execute the fundamentals correctly. 3. Our helmets are on and chin straps fastened when we step on the practice field. All issued protective gear is required for every practice unless informed otherwise by the Head Coach. 4. Be positive and affirming with one other. No negative comments or put downs. 5. Never leave the practice field without permission from one of the coaches. 6. Everything we do we do as a team! We hustle from place to place and focus on being in rhythm as a team in all warm ups, drills and simulations. 7. Always present a respectful and committed response to your coaching staff. All coaches are addressed as Coach (his name). When needing to respond to a coachs directive Yes Coach is the correct response. All player concerns are dealt with in the coachs office after practice.
