What Can I Do This Summer?

READ!!! Read with your child daily. Take a picture walk through the pages. Understand how to hold a book and flip through the pages. Encourage your child to find and identify alphabet letters in words.

Alphabet Start with child’s name Recognizing ABC’s Writing ABC’s Read and write! Recognizing ABC’s Writing ABC’s HAVE FUN!! Use chalk, paint, play dough, shaving cream, magnetic letters, writing in the sand.

Visit Your Local Library Go to library.loudoun.gov website Join Summer Reading Program: http://library.loudoun.gov/ Check out books that are age appropriate. Ask your librarian for help.
