The Earth’s current population = 6.6 BILLION!

SURPRISE! You just got a letter in the mail from a lawyer saying that a very rich uncle died and left you a lot of money. But, your uncle had quite a sense of humor and there is a catch to this newfound wealth. In order to receive the money, you must first count it.

You will inherit 1 billion dollars. Count it, 8 hours a day, at a rate of $1 per second. When you finish counting, the billion is yours to use as you please.

No big deal… let’s start counting $1/second = $60/minute $3,600/hour = $28,800/day $10,512,000/year = how many years!? 95.12 YEARS!

My garbage collection in only one day, collected on a ten minute walk, over less than half a mile… -3 plastic bottles -7 plastic bags -2 glass bottles -19 candy wrappers -27 cigarette butts -12 bottle caps My 10 minute walk became 15 minutes.

The average human produces 4.4 pounds of garbage a day… My bag weighs ~1 pound… Garbage production for 1 person per year: 1,606 lbs Assuming lifetime is 85 yrs. : 136,510 lbs
