Issues of Test 5 in current SSD Month Year doc.: IEEE 802.11-yy/xxxxr0 March 2015 Issues of Test 5 in current SSD Test 5 in Current SSD is imprecise for power save calibration. In PSM Test, when STA on PSM receives a frame, STA may reset the PSM Timer. i.e., Data frame, DTIM Beacon frame In PSM/PSP Test When PS STA detects that the bit corresponding to its AID is 0 in DTIM Beacon frame whether PS STA enters the sleep state and PS STA remains the sleep state until PS STA enters the Awake state to receive the DTIM Beacon frame or not . Since the AP transmits Beacon frame in the PSM/PSP Test, the time spent in RX State of STA and TX State of AP depends on Beacon size. Hyeyoung Choi, LG Electronics John Doe, Some Company
Simulation results for PSM Test- Time(1/2) March 2015 Simulation results for PSM Test- Time(1/2) The shorter PSM Timeout is, the longer STA sleeps. If PSM Timeout is larger than DTIM Interval, the max time that STA maintains listen state is DTIM Interval. Simulation results for PSM Test- Time(2/2) March 2015 Simulation results for PSM Test- Time(2/2) Compared with [2] In Active Mode [3] (Nokia) suggest 80 octet for Beacon size We assume that the Size of Beacon is 272 octet(including TIM:250 octet) In PSM Mode, PSM Timeout=[200]ms We assume that PSM STA enters the sleep state during DTIM Interval when PSM STA detects that the bit corresponding to its AID is 0 in DTIM Beacon frame. Example of the frameflow in PSM scenario (DTIM=[3]/PSM Timeout=[200]ms) Slide 6 Hyeyoung Choi,, LG Electronics
