Agenda What is an AB 288 CCAP Partnership Agreement? What is a Non-CCAP Agreement? Where does your early or middle college fit in? What are some tools for deciding pros/cons for coming under CCAP v. Non-CCAP agreements? 1

What is an AB 288 Partnership Agreement? College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP) Bill AB 288 (Holden) enacted Jan. 1, 2016--added to the California Education Code Allows a community college district to enter into a College and Career Pathways (CCAP) partnership agreement with a high school district “Dual Enrollment” defined in Ed. Code as “special part- time” or “special full-time” students—that is, high school, enrolling in community college credit courses 1

AB 288 CCAP Purpose AB 288 CCAP Goals Expanding dual enrollment for students who may not already be college bound or who may be underrepresented in higher education. AB 288 CCAP Goals Goal of seamless pathways to community college for: CTE or transfer, improving high school graduation rates, or college and career readiness. 1

AB 288 CCAP Partners AB 288 CCAP Courses Must be a community college district and a school district. AB 288 CCAP Courses Must be part of a pathway, may be college level and/or developmental math or English under certain circumstances. 1

AB 288 CCAP Enrollment SPTHSS allowed to enroll in up to 15 units (4 courses) per term. SPTHSS may have same priority enrollment as Middle College HS students. College classes on the HS campus may enroll HS students only and do not have to open up to outside students. 1

AB 288 CCAP Apportionment College district may claim apportionment for a course offered on the college campus and for a closed course located on a high school campus to CCAP participants. The course, and FTE generated by courses, must comply with all other applicable statutory and regulatory req. related to claiming attendance of special admit students. 1

AB 288 CCAP Approval Each District’s Board must approve the CCAP agreement. The Agreement must be submitted to the CCCCO for approval before students are enrolled. 1

AB 288 CCAP Fees/Costs to Students Under CCAP, students are not to be charged for classes or fees. Costs are to be worked out between the districts. This is in alignment with the focus being on helping underrepresented/underserved populations towards pathways completion, high school graduation, college transfer, and college and career preparedness. 1
