If you curse, know your audience.

Mindset vs Expectation 08 You can have anything you want in life just not everything 05 Fairplay is for board games and sports. 06 Life is more about how you respond to things than what happens to you. 03 This too shall pass 04 In god we trust all others bring data 07 If you want better answers, ask better questions. 02 Things are not good or bad they just are 01 The world owes you nothing.

Stuff no one tells you adult is not an age thinking sounds simple but… Once you understand that you and you alone or responsible for where you find yourself you can move on. thinking When you get new information form new opinions – or at least double check your existing sounds simple but… Make the work the point. prepare Get up a little earlier than you should be on time 5 minutes early is on time. On time is late. Late is unforgivable. life balance Have goals outside of work

Your network determines your net worth. Invest in yourself Your network determines your net worth. Go to conferences about your industry. Network outside of your company. Volunteer for industry events Reputation Be thoughtful of others - but don’t worry what they think, because people are rarely thinking of you, they are typically thinking of themselves. 😒😒 Generalist or Specialist Have many interests but pick a thing and get really, really good at it.

1 thing to do to ACE interviews Take questions to an interview What do people that are already successful in this role do? A year from now how will you decide that I have been successful (what will it look like) If I am successful here, what can I expect from the company? If I am here for five years where can I go? What is your biggest problem

Putting it together career stuff Other stuff The real stuff Solve other people’s problems whenever you can. Especially for your boss Write down goals Put a date on them Read books about people you admire (audible or podcasts count) Say yes to everything early in your career Volunteer for the things that people don’t/can’t do Do stuff that makes you uncomfortable Other stuff Set a time once a year for your boss and decide to advocate for yourself. (This is a different time of year than their review) The real stuff Decide what is important, what your priciples will be and defend them.

BIG CONCEPT Confidence and Ego are different things – the difference is confidence is based on evidence
