AESIP ~ July 8–July 26, 2019 RADIATE ~ July 29–August 16, 2019 Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Avionics, Sensors and E*Warfare Department Summer Internship Programs At Patuxent River Naval Air Station AESIP ~ July 8–July 26, 2019 (Aviation Electronics and Sensors Internship Program) RADIATE ~ July 29–August 16, 2019 (Radio Frequency and Antenna Demonstration and Instruction for Advancing Technology Education) Hands-On Experiments Technology Applications Aircraft Interactions Internship Highlights AESIP Opportunity for students to be exposed to many different technologies applied across Naval Aviation Interns will gain hands-on learning of various technologies such as unmanned aircraft systems, electro-optics sensors, night vision goggles, communications – radio waves theory/optical fiber, SONAR, LASERS, radios, RADAR and Cyber systems and more On-station tours of laboratories and prepare Power Point slides to brief leadership RADIATE Opportunity for students to learn about radio waves and radar technologies Interns will gain hands-on learning of radar technology Internship Details The internships are unpaid for U.S. citizens, 16 years and older Held on the Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Md. Interns should bring their own lunch, drinks and snacks Enrollment is limited to rising high school seniors and rising college freshmen Application process opens January 14, 2019 and closes March 15, 2019 Selection process will include a review of all completed application packages by a NAWCAD review panel Limited number of students will be accepted into these programs; therefore the student must be able to commit to the duration of the internship Accepted students will be notified no later than April 10, 2019 To request an application, please send an e-mail to NAWCAD Education Outreach Office at NAWCADEOO.FCT@navy.mil FY19
