Boaz background Founded in 2004 by Dave Smith Originally a small hosting organisation Now manage 17 shared properties Currently accommodating 39 destitute asylum seekers and 28 refugees Also run a winter night shelter (men) and emergency hosting (women)

Boaz refugee housing Purpose: Objective: The Boaz Trust is a Christian charity working to end destitution amongst asylum seekers and refugees Objective: We will deliver a sustainable refugee supported housing programme providing regular income (through rent) to Boaz

Refugee housing project Aim: Expand our provision and increase income Partnership with local housing associations Boaz pays appropriate level of rent on a 3-4 bed property- guaranteed rent for HA Boaz accommodates individual refugee clients on a shared housing basis HA cover maintenance, insurance etc. Bills covered through rent and small top up Boaz provides support to clients

Benefits of our model Improved quality of housing stock! Increased income levels! Income grown by 64% in two years (housing stock grown 40%). Better relationships with DWP and direct debit facility Not responsible for repairs and maintenance! Added benefits of relationship with a housing association: learning, credibility, networks…
