Lucy and Zoes interview with Rose Matthews

Rosina Matthews was born in Wanstead This is The Royal Wanstead School The Bandstand, Wanstead Flats, Wanstead, London, E11.

Roses first personal sporting memories are long jump, five a side football, cycling and Roller skating. Rose used to go roller skating at Forest Gate.

Rose doesnt remember particular athletes from the Olympics, but could remember liking the athlete Daley Thompson. Daley Thompson is a former decathlete from England. He won the Gold Medal for the decathlon in 1980 and 1984 A decathlon is an athletic contest in which competitor takes part in 10 events.

The most important famous sporting event that Rose could remember was 1966 world cup where England beat Germany. She watched it on TV in Scotland with her sister Margaret.

Rose has made many friends through playing sport, especially in her short mat bowls team, who she still meets regularly. She plays for Castleview short mat bowls team, but because Castleview school is being developed, has nowhere to play at the moment. Some of her friends are Beryl, Sheila, Eileen and Ryan
