Week of December 3, 2018 Mrs. Tuten’s Newsletter Word Study Words Students will be tested on Friday and will have to write each word correctly. These are some examples of word patterns that will be used. Reading~ The Big Race Focus Skill: Conclusions Read Aloud~ Snow Books Language~ Nouns (Singular, Plural, Possessive) Writing~ How to… Math~ Unit 3 Addition & Subtraction strategies (3 Addends & Word Problems) Social Studies~ Thomas Jefferson & Ben Franklin Sight Words Students will be tested Friday. Students will have to say each word instantly, without sounding them out. They will not have to write them 1. city 2. earth 3. eyes 4. light 5. thought 6. head 7. under 8. story 9. saw 10. left Homework Daily: Read, or have someone read to you for 10 – 15 minutes. (AR) Monday: Math Sheet and Word Work sheet Tuesday: Math Sheet and Word Work sheet Wednesday: Family Night (No Homework) Thursday: : Math Sheet and Study Word Work list & sight words for test tomorrow. Our specials time is 12:10-12:55 Christmas Party Our Christmas Party is just around the corner. This year we are going to have light refreshments and a 4 station rotation. One of the stations will be opening a gift that you will send in for YOUR child. Please keep the price at $5.00. We are asking for parents to sign-up to send in needed donations for the children to have the most fun that we can provide. The party will be Wednesday, December 19th at 1:00. Please look for the party letter coming home this week.
