Our internet, our choice. Understanding the digital world. Theme Our internet, our choice. Understanding the digital world.

How would you use the internet?

Consent Consent is another word for permission. You have to ask for permission for some things because anything can happen. Here are some examples…

When do we need consent? Without consent, bad things can happen. You MUST read the terms and conditions because it can eat up your data and do things you didn’t think you agreed to. No matter how long and boring they may be it is important. Talk to your partner and tell them if you read the terms and conditions.

Incognito Incognito is a thing that you can use to block cookies . Cookies are a thing that companies use to track what you have been searching. Some are so sneaky that if they see you looking at something they will up the price. However Incognito prevents that.

Think before you act As you can see from our previous slide there are many things that can be accessed from the internet and they can be good but there always a risk that things can go wrong. That’s why its important to be safe as some of them people are not nice these people are called cyber- bullies or internet trolls. Its not nice to encounter these people.

Cyber-bullying Before you download or enter anything online you must ask a adult. This is because you sometimes get scammed. It is terrible to encounter these people. People like this only want to hurt you mentally.

Advice If your ever get bullied in school, you can ask a Digital Leader for help or you can tell a teacher and they can tell you the next step. Stay safe, stay calm and stay smart.
