IB Psychology 3.5.18 Check In Today’s Agenda: Turn in: Nothing HW: Gather Studies… CRA 4.5—All of it Exam Friday Turn in: Nothing Take out: Notes, notes, notes Today’s Learning Objectives: So many of them…

Time for a check in… How’d it go from your perspective? How’d it go from Steen’s perspective? Are you currently applying the concept of SSB? FAE? Do you have any idea to what I’m referring?

“Senioritis” Think you’re “done?” Only 1st semester matters… Just waiting for that college admission to come through? Just don’t care anymore??? I’m not planning on going to college…I’m going to BC Already been accepted to your college of choice? I’ve worked so hard for 12 years, I deserve a break…

“Senioritis” Why does it matter? It is possible for colleges to rescind offers of enrollment… Scholarship monies can be lost Research suggests that students that maintain rigorous academic habits perform better in the transition to college—not just in their Freshman year, but throughout their academic life. WATS—life is more interesting if you get involved…we’re all here, you chose it, let’s finish it…

4 Principles that define sociocultural levels of analysis—evident today? 1. Human Beings are social animals. 2. Culture influences behavior. 3. Humans have a social self. 4. Peoples views of the world are resistant to change.

Time for a check in… We have our 1st paper (exam) on May 11th Paper 2 is on May 14th This will be for ALL students…even if you did not elect to take the test with “IB”—May 10th (most likely…) for those not testing with IB. This means we have 44 days of school left to prepare for it: we also need to finish this unit, and two others… My point is: we still have much to do, and the pace will not slow... I would recommend getting after it!

The Rest of our Time… Core—3 Levels of Analysis (40) Abnormal (12) Be sure you’re caught up with your reading and notes Be sure you’re working towards gathering studies to apply to learning outcomes. If it were me…(other students have expressed this to me as well) I would use the charts that have been made available to me. Lots of Learning Outcomes to manage… Core—3 Levels of Analysis (40) Abnormal (12) Option(s) (11-13) Total: 63-65 Get going on your reading…
